I started AVANT design during high school. i was suffering from a severe bout of senioritis and spent much of my time during english drawing and sketching. using my high school's silkscreening press and screens, i ran a few 'cityscape' shirts which turned out to be popular. soon after, I applied for a seller's permit under my mother's name—as i was not yet 18—and negotiating an american apparel retail license.
